Bees in the Steinhausen Center

A swarm of bees arrived at Monday's Happy Club lunch courtesy
of parishioner and Midwest Master Beekeper Everett Smith.

He explained how all the female bees do all of the work in the hive while the males sit around slopping honey. He pointed out that 90% of almonds grown are pollunated by bees and how much of our crops would not do nearly as well without the bees. They do much more than make honey.

He offerred to let the bees out if anyone
wanted to pet them. No one did.
