Almost 160 of our parishioners will receive their First Communion this weekend or next. As we she the joy and excitement as they receive the Eucharist, it is a chance for the rest of us to be reminded of what a special moment it is.

The Jewler
Sr. Delores Dolezal, OSB shared this story of a boy who wanted to be a jewler with many of our students at St. Columbkille Catholic School as well as this class at Sacred Heart Preschool. Sr. Delores taught at our school in the 1980s so we were delighted to have her visit us during Catholic Schools Week.
Thank you Sr. Delores!

Preparing for Confirmation
Fr. Damian spoke to the Confirmation Candidates last night then Tom Murray facilitated in the Social Level. But the core of Confirmation Preperation is the interaction between parents and the students. Everything the parish does is to assist and facilitate parents as they take seriously their responsibility to train them in the practice of the faith.
And thank you to the "volunteers"
who helped make a point.

Lewis, Clark and 5th Grade
There was a field trip for the 5th grade students to visit a site where Lewis & Clark and their shadows had passed years before.
It was a chance for these students from St. Columbkille Catholic School to consider what Lewis and Clark saw when they first visited Nebraska.
It was a chance for these students from St. Columbkille Catholic School to consider what Lewis and Clark saw when they first visited Nebraska.
The displays were very "hands on."
They even visited a replica of the boat the explorers had used.
We hope you had a good time exploring history!

Deacon Lieck
In the picture above from May 25, 1997, then Principal Christine Overkamp is breaking ground for an addition to St. Columbkille Catholic School as Fr. Stillmunks watches. One of the observers is then HSA President Mike Lieck.
In 2002 Mr Lieck was ordained Deacon Lieck. Archbishop Lucas has recently assigned Deacon Lieck to serve at St. Pius X Parish. We wish him well as he continues his service to the Church.

Choose a Chair
With the remodeling of the sanctuary, there will be new chairs in the back replacing the red ones.
The three chairs below are some options we have. They are by the credence table, so stop by, sit and tell us which one you like.
What do you think?

Spring Tea
Kindergarten students invited a guest to Mass and
a Spring Tea today. This included reciting
a poem and singing a song.
They selected and served cookies to their guest.
Then they had their snack together.
Guests also got a certificate.
Eventually we had to say goodbye and go on with our day...
... after we helped clean.
Thank you to everyone who
joined us for our Spring Tea!
