The Confirmation Retreat is Underway

Confirmation Candidates and their sponsors are gathered at the church this morning. The activities are designed to get the two of them to interact discussing their faith.

It also has them consider what to pray

for and allows them to pray together.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered.

They also paint together. Each painting is full of symbolism both as a teaching tool and a reminder of the event.

Pray for our candidates and their sponsors,

this morning in their retreat and

as their prepare for Confirmation.

Confirmation was Awesome

Archbishop Lucas was o hand to confirm

two batches of Conformandi yesterday.

Fr. Dave introduced the candidates ...

... and Archbishop Lucas addressed them.

Fr. Dave seemed to entertain Archbishop Lucas between the two services.

Pentecost & Confirmation

As we celebrate Pentecost today, we can't help but be reminded of our Confirmation students. Just one week ago today they received the same Spirit given to the apostles at Pentecost.

This is the sacrament of Martyrdom and Evangelization as we offer ourselves to God and commit to sharing our faith by how we live our lives.

You can hear Archbishop Lucas' homily from Confirmation right here.

Confirmation 2015

Preparing for Confirmation

Our Confirmation candidates have gone through a long formation process. Part of it was attending sessions with parents or their sponsor.

Then last fall there was an all day retreat with the band The Thirsting.

They played and they shared their faith.

There was time for journaling, ...

... paper-rock-scissors, ...

... and even some autographs at the end.
