Today, before St. Columbkille and Christ the King played their 4th grade basketball game, the players, refs and coaches gathered to pray for those in and affected by the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
Seeing the bigger picture, both
teams were winners at the end.
Show us, Lord, the immense power of your goodness, that, as we weep for our brothers and sisters taken from us by a sudden death, we may be confident that they have passed over into your eternal company. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.*
