Last night before the 5:30 Mass, Janine Sheldricks had to tap the gentleman in the pew in front of her and said, "I know this is going to sound crazy, but do you see Christ's head in that shadow?"Deacon Bill Hill replied, "Wearing a crown of thorns? Yeah, I wish I had a camera."
Above is an enlargement. It was the first time she thought a camera phone was worthwhile.
I have to say that this image brings tears to my eyes. Sometimes we do not realize that this is truly his house. It has brought me back to the fact that he really is the reason that we step into the church. What a beautiful gift for Holy Week. I couldn't help but think that this is his way of getting the crucifix up front, even if for just a little while.
