Is Something Missing?

Yes, four pews are missing.

They were damaged by the lift that one of our subcontractors had used. Yesterday our pew company took them for repair. Bill Heese is letting them know we would really like them back as soon as possible.

Pew Work: Before and After

Above are two pictures of one of our pews. The first is from June, just before it was picked up by the pew company to fix the water damage. The image below it is of that same pew as it was returned this morning.

At the end of the pews, the laminate has seen a lot of wear (left.) The company created an endcap that is being placed over the ends to give a nicer look (right.)

In addition new holders for the missals are being
installed on the back of all of the pews today.

So this weekend take a new look at the pews.

What to do with the pews?

The company who made the pews will be working
on the ones damaged from water leaks.

The remainder of the pews need to be lightly sanded with steel wool and a coat of wood finisher applied. The company will train us on how to do the wood finishing. If you are willing to help, please give the parish office a call or talk to Bill Heese. With a number of people working on the project, it should not take long to complete.
Fr. Damian would like your opinion on what we should do about the kneelers and book racks. If we move the book racks to the back of the pew rather than under the seat, then we can move the kneelers back an inch to make them more comfortable for kneeling.

Would you like the kneelers moved back an inch?
Would you like the book racks on the back of the pews?
Would you like us to leave the kneelers and racks as they are now?
