Gross Catholic High School Awards

Gross Catholic High School presents the Man & Woman of the Year awards to a male and female senior student for demonstration of the gift of self, leadership, family spirit, concern for others and the school, academic success and basic integrity.

This year the 2013 Man & Woman of the Year are two of our parishioners, Zach Knicky and Emily Fanslau.

Among the other awards given to our parishioners is the 2013 Omaha World Herald Top Student Scholar award to Nathan Henton.

Jessica Wilson was named the
2013 Omaha World Herald Scholar.

 Sophomore Noah Fanslau was
 named the 2013 Spirit Scholar.

Matthew Herting is the
2013 Outstanding Sophomore student.

Sarah Watson was named branch contest winner for the annual Fleet Reserve Association Americanism Essay Contest. This regional and national contest had around 120 entries from 7th-12th graders across the Omaha area. Sophomore Sarah Watson placed first in for her respective grade. FRA Patriotic Chairman of Branch 276, Jim Black, presented Sarah with her winning plaque on Thursday, April 18. This year's Patriotic Essay theme was "What my vote will mean to me" and contestants were asked to write 350 words on the topic.

Congratulations to all the award winners!

  2. One would presume they look at our parishioners and choose from among them -- but you'd have to ask http://www.grosscatholic.org/
Okay -- that was just teasing about choosing from our parishioners.
