Today Fr Damian and his tour group visit the Crypt of St. James, the patron saint of Spain and the brother of St. John the Beloved. St. James lived and preached in Spain for a time before he returned to Jerusalem, where he was the first Apostle to be martyred. They will also visit the tombs of St. Athanasius and St. Theodore, the Church of San Francisco, built in honor of St. Francis’ pilgrimage to the town around the year 1213, and the churches San Roque and Santa Clara. Dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela.
