The Vigil for Life Mass and Procession began on Saturday, August 7, 1999. Since then it has become an annual event in which the Archbishop of Omaha celebrates Mass and leads the faithful in procession to the Bellevue Abortion Mill to pray for an end to abortion.
This year the Pro-Life Prayer Vigil will be led by our new Archbishop, George J. Lucas, on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at 8 a.m. at St. Mary Church (2302 Crawford St.) in Bellevue.
The Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and a prayerful rosary procession to the abortion facility on Mission Street under the supervision of the Bellevue Police Department. A reception will be held in the basement of St. Mary’s Church afterwards.
