Volleyball: 8th Grade versus Teachers

After one of the volleyball games today, the 8th grade class posed for a picture.

But wait ... who jumped in that picture?

Here's another try. The Teachers were the "home" team on the scoreboard and the 8th Graders were the "guest" team. Games this year were played to 11 - and note the score in the back.

We'll have more from the game tomorrow.

Getting Ready for Volleyball

One of the exciting parts of Catholic Schools Week is the volleyball game between Teachers and 8th graders. Each year the students cheer for the students or teachers as they wait for their turn.

For many of the students in these pictures,

their turn is tomorrow. Good luck!

More than Volleyball

It was just a few years ago that the Class of 2014 was on the sidelines cheering on the older students. Each year as the 8th grade students get to take on the teachers, it is more than a volleyball game. In competing with the teachers and planning together without any adults, it is a coming of age as each class puts their spin on the contest.

Here they are:

Before they played, they gathered and prayed:

Players took a timeout to regroup, ending with 1-2-3-Family!

It's fun to win a set:

Although the teachers were the champs - again.

Here's how the players gathered afterwards:

We Shall See

This was one of the jokes from the Talent Show:

Just Gettin' Warmed Up

Today our 6th Grade Volleyball

Team got their warm-ups.

They're ready to play!

8th Grade versus The Dream Team

During Catholic Schools Week, yesterday was the annual teachers versus 8th grade volleyball game.

In the end Fr. Vogel was almost toppled by adoring fans as the "Dream Team" won again.
