Wild Things and Dragon Snatcher

Last night was an evening of concerts. The first was done by the 5th grade classes at St. Columbkille as they told the story of the Wild Things.

The second performance was by the 6th grade class on The Dragon Snatcher.

Vocations Day 2015

The 6th Grade Students from St. Columbkille Catholic School were just some of the students from cross Omaha who gathered to learn about religious vocations.

Jesus was at the center for a great celebration.

A great band was leading the enthusiastic crowd before, after and during Mass.

 It was a great chance to meet and interact with the religious and clergy.

Students were in small group sessions as they heard about religious life and vocation stories.

 Everyone was well fed, and you never know who you might run into when a crowd gathers.

Our Sixth Grade Class represented us well!

D.A.R.E. Graduation

Wednesday was D.A.R.E. graduation for the 6th grade

 students at St.Columbkille Catholic School.

D.A.R.E. Officer Tony Foster of the Papillion, Nebraska Police Department led the program. He has been hands on in the school and has gotten to know our students very.

Mayor Black was the guest speaker. He said that there have been problems in Ferguson, MO and other communities across the country between the Police and the Community because there is a disconnect between the police and the community. He is pleased with the connection between the police and the community, especially in having Officer Foster being so involved in D.A.R.E. and the officers who spend so much time in the schools. Papillion is a place where we learn that the police aren't someone to run from when we're in trouble, but someone to run to.

Every student wrote an essay about their experience in D.A.R.E. and what they learned from it. Officer Foster chose one boy and one girl from each class to read their essay to the class.

We are delighted with and proud of our graduates!

Fifth and Sixth Grade Spring Concert

Cheering Them On!

There have been a number of St. Columbkille basketball teams playing in St. Bernadette's tournament this weekend. many nights, including last night, there were a lot of classmates cheering them on.

The excitement for basketball is high.

Even the refs noticed our excited fans.

Christmas Service

On the last day of school before break,while most classes held their Christmas party, a few were doing something to help others enjoy their Christmas.

Students began by decorating bags ...

 ... which they filled with basic necessities 

(which they had collected) for those in need.

 They were able to fill over 160 bags of items.

Then they had some pizza.

Those bags were collected ...

... then delivered to the Lydia House and the Open Door Mission earlier today.

Vocations Day

On Friday 7th grade Catholic School students from throughout the area gathered at Skutt High School for Vocation's Day. It gave students a chance to meet priests, religious sisters and vowed religious and learn about their life.

We were well represented by our student.
