Just before the Christmas break, a fun tradition is when the 7th grade students at St. Columbkille Catholic School help their kindergarten Mass buddy make a gingerbread house. It's a great example of how our older students work with and are examples for our younger students.

Building Gingerbread Houses
At St. Columbkille Catholic School, Kindergarten and 7th grade students are matched as "Mass Buddies." This not only means they sit together at the all-school Mass each Thursday, but they also participate in some other activities together each year.
In one of those activities, the 7th graders help their buddy build a gingerbread house.

Building Gingerbread Houses
During All-School Masses, a Kindergarten student is matched with each of the 7th grade students and they sit together each week. In addition they do some activities together throughout the year. One of these was having the 7th grade students help their Mass buddy build a Gingerbread House just before the Christmas break.
Well Done!

Students and their mothers worked
on gingerbread houses together.
Doing a project with Mom was a lot of fun!
