Tied with Ten Seconds Left

Many teams from St. Columbkille Parish have been part of a great March Madness basketball tournament held at Gross Catholic High School by St. Bernadette Parish. This was a 7th grade game between Mary Our Queen and St. Columbkille which came down to the final seconds.

Then it was tied 22-22 with less than 10 second left and Mary Our Queen had the ball.

Building Together

Just before the Christmas break, a fun tradition is when the 7th grade students at St. Columbkille Catholic School help their kindergarten Mass buddy make a gingerbread house. It's a great example of how our older students work with and are examples for our younger students.

Visiting the Zoo

Each year some students from St. Columbkille Catholic School take a field trip to the Omaha Zoo.

The trip is taken by the Kindergarten students and their 7th grade Mass buddies. All year, these students have been sitting together at all-school Masses each week. On Wednesday they enjoyed the zoo together.

The 7th grade students carried the lunch and snacks for their buddy. As they traveled around the zoo, the Kindergarteners were to decide what they wanted to see and the 7th graders were to take them there. Although parents came along, the 7th graders were responsible for their buddy. Overall, they did very well.

It was a very fun - and exhausting - day.
