How Much to Love

National Speaker Jason Evert spoke to 7th and 8th graders about chastity at St. Stephen the Marty. This included the 7th and 8th grade students from St. Columbkille Catholic School.

In a presentation that fully engaged the students, Jason answered questions like "How far is too far?" and challenged them to think about and pray for their future spouse.

Here's a clip from his presentation on how much men are supposed to love their wife:

Jason Evert visits

About 850-900 people heard Jason Evert
discuss Chastity at St. Columbkille last night.

"Marshall and I are going to
demonstrate how far is too far."

Men should love their wife the way Christ loved
the Church  -- willing to be crucified for her.

During a photo shoot a model saw herself before God and asked,
"Out of all the gifts God gave me, is this what I want to offer back?"

"Your Mom will buy you any chasitity book you want."

Afterwards, some youth waitied an
hour and a half to talk to Jason.

Teaching Chastity

"When we see the truth about our bodies and sex, we change our lives, but not out of guilt, or fear of pregnancy, or disease. We change our lives because God's view of love is everything the human heart longs for."
Jason Evert

"Only the pure of heart are capable of seeing the depth and mystery of sex. For the person who is pure, sex is a sacred gift and the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the foundation of chastity is the dignity of every person and the greatness of sex."
Jason Evert

"When we see God's plan for love, lust looks boring"
Jason Evert

Romance Without Regret

Today’s teens experience greater temptations than ever before. In the midst of this cultural assault against innocence and virtue, young people need convincing reasons to practice the virtue of chastity. Some think that "chastity" simply means "not having sex." But that's mere abstinence: what you can't do and can't have. Chastity is more than that, it is about what you can do and have—right now: a lifestyle that brings freedom, respect, peace, and romance without regret. By addressing the issues that teens struggle with most, such as sexual pressure, pornography, modesty, and starting over, Jason Evert offers encouragement for teens to maintain their purity or begin again if they’ve made mistakes in the past.

Through the generous sponsorship of the Knights of Columbus, we are delighted that Jason Evert will be speaking at St. Columbkille on Thursday, February 3rd. Jason earned a master's degree in theology, and undergraduate degrees in counseling and theology, with a minor in philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is the author of ten books, including If You Really Loved Me, Pure Love, and Theology of the Body for Teens, which challenge young people to be pure. Jason speaks at seminars, participates in debates, and responds to thousands of questions about chastity and Catholicism from people around the world.

So mark it on your calendar:
