Preparing to Fish

The St Columbkille Shepherds not only donated equipment to the 4th grade class at St. Columbkille Catholic School. Today they took groups of kids outside to show them how to use it.

Hopefully this way they can be more relaxed and enjoy it when they go fishing next week!

Lincoln Field Trip

The 4th grade classes from St. Columbkille Catholic School had a field trip to Lincoln last week.

They toured and learned about the capital building.

They also visited Morrill Hall
where they got to learn about fossils.

Here some of the students with the largest
assembled Mammoth skeleton in the world.

They also managed to enjoy a pizza lunch.
It was a very good field trip.

Volcanic

Some of the Scouts did a project on volcanoes. Because they were also studying volcanoes in their 4th grade science class, they brought their volcano in to show an eruption.

They were delighted to answer questions from their classmates at the end.

A Fishing Surprise

Last week the Fourth Grade students at St. Columbkille Catholic School got a surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Marion representing St. Columbkille Shepherds.

Every year the 4th grade students have a fishing field trip.

The Shepherds have given the students 30 fishing rods, bobbers, weights, a scale, gloves, a tackle box and much more.

Both classes are very appreciative of this kind and generous gift!

Fishing in the Cold

The Fourth Grade class at St. Columbkille Catholic School had their Monday field trip cancelled due to rain -- so they ventured out yesterday in the cold.

 There were some fish ...

.. and it was still a lot of fun!
