Goodbye Fr. Vogel

This was Fr. Vogel's last weekend at St. Columbkille. After 5 years here, he will be the new pastor at St. Boniface Parish in Elgin and St. Bonaventure Parish in Raeville. After the noon Mass, the Women's Guild hosted a farewell reception for him. We wish Fr. Vogel well as he serves Christ's people.

Cookie Walk in Progress

Our Women's Guild is holding their annual Cookie Walk until 1:30 this afternoon. It's your chance to pick up a variety of cookies for the holidays, or give a few to an old, silly pastor.

Fr Dave has been Installed

Today Archbishop George Lucas celebrated our noon Mass.

During Mass, Archbishop Lucas installed Fr Dave Reeson as our pastor. Fr Dave said it feels good to be legitimate now.

In his homily, Archbishop  Lucas said we have gotten to know Fr Dave well enough to realize that he did not send us the perfect pastor. But he also said he did not send Fr Dave to the perfect parish.

Fr Dave had a few comments after Mass.

The Women's Guild had a great reception dinner afterwards which was enjoyed by everyone!

Telling Fr Damian Farewell

Fr. Damian spoke at all of the Masses this weekend as he said farewell. This afternoon the Women's Guild hosted a reception for Fr. Damian as people had the chance to say goodbye.

He even fulfilled some autograph requests.
