Stepping Out - Fighting Hunger

Another of our Step Out and Serve Projects this Discipleship Weekend was to pack meals at Kids Against Hunger.

This group packaged 15,076 meals which are destined for Haiti. Thank you for your work!

Stepping Out and Serving

One of the "Step Out & Serve" project this weekend was serving brunch at Monarch Villa this morning. They enjoyed it and expressed their appreciation.

We hope we get more pictures from all the work this weekend.

A Bake Sale Discipleship Weekend

One of the events during Discipleship Weekend was a Gigantic Bake Sale. We sold out of all the goods Sunday morning and raised $1,779 in sales and donations, well beyond the goal of $1,000. The money will help renovate a building in downtown Omaha to serve the needs of the community.

• Paint - 2 five gallon buckets - $98 each
• Drywall - 35 4x8 sheets - $6.49 each
• 5 Pre-hung interior foors - $65 each
• 5 sets of door hardware - $15 each
• 6 surface light fixtures - $105 each

Stepped Out & Served

Last weekend some of our parish disciples helped bring food to those in need. In one case they watched as a young family who had never needed to ask for help before, came for assitance.

Some of our disciples sweated up a storm as they worked.

In one of our kid friendly activities, 10,000

nutritional meals were prepared for

people in our area and around the world.

Thank you all for saying yes.

Step Out, Serve & Pray

A change in the format of Step Out & Serve this year was added prayer.

This year there was a number of Prayer Sessions (including Play Dough

Prayer) when people chose the project they would like to work on.

After they finished their projects last weekend they

gathered in the Steinhausen Center. There they split

into child or adult groups, reflected and prayed.

After processing they had done, there was food.

Thank you to the generous Disciples of Christ

who worked so diligently for others this weekend.
