3 on 3 Basketball

Part of the Festival Sunday was the 3 on 3 basketball tournament.

Besides being fun to play ...

... it was great having some Creighton players as referees!

Our 3 on 3 Referees

During the Parish Festival we held our 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Between games it seemed a lot of people wanted to have their pictures taken with the referees.

Of course most referees don't also play for the Creighton Bluejays.

 Between games, they also got some basketball in.

But at our Family Fun Festival players Josh Jones, Jahenns Manigat, Avery Dingman, Geoff Groselle, Ethan Wragge and student manager Brian Torino were the referees during our 3 on 3 tournament.

 When Fr. Vogel wasn't winning the Helmet Challenge,

 or playing 3 on 3 basketball,

 

 he was climbing the rock wall like a squirrel or

 running the obstacle course or

eating.

The Festival was a busy place for Fr. Vogel.

They play today, but they were our refs

The Creighton Bluejay are taking on North Carolina today.

But at our 3 on 3 tournament, Creighton players

Doug McDermott, Ethan Wragge and Ross Ferrarini

were on hand to ref our games...

... and even gave a little advice.

3 on 3 basketball Tournament

Due to the rain, our 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament was moved to the gym Sunday. There were a lot of hard competition and some good games.

 

 

 

What you don't always see are players

getting their picture taken with a ref.

What was unusual were the refs. Doug McDermott, Ethan Wragge and Ross Ferrarini from the Creighton Men's Basketball Team were kind enough to referee some of our games.

 

They even had some advice:



Thank you to our refs as well as Coach Steve Merfeld, Patti Galas and Creighton Athletics for letting them help us out.

The Refs can Play

There is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament

during the Family Fun Festival Sunday.

Like last year, some Creighton players will be refs for a few games. One of our refs last year was Doug McDermott who went on to be named MVC Freshman of the Year and spent the summer playing for Team USA. Find out Sunday which players are refs this year.
