As we celebrate Pentecost today, we hear how the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit.
You can experience Pentecost and know who the Holy Spirit is and receive His gifts. We will be led by the Intercessors of the Lamb in the Empowerment of the Holy Spirit on June 2, 9 and 16 at 7 p.m. in the Steinhausen Center.
“Come to me all who are weary and find life burdensome.”

Pray for Priests
In this year when there will not be any priests ordained in the Archdiocese, St. Columbkille will be having an all night prayer service focusing on prayer for vocations. We will have Benediction and Exposition and prayers for priestly vocations starting at 9:00 pm tonight and conclude at 06:00 May 31st with Benediction and retirement of the Blessed Sacrament. While it would be great to come for an hour, stop by for 5 or 15 minutes if that works.

Our Lady of Kibeho
The next book club meeting is June 11. The book is Our Lady of Kibeho by Immaculee Ilibagiza. The paragraph below is from a book review done by Catholic Media Review.
Anyone of the millions of readers of Immaculee Ilibagiza’s New York Times bestselling book, “Left to Tell” in which she relates the terrifying ordeal she endured, hiding in a tiny bathroom with 7 women, while the Rwandan genocide raged outside, is left with a burning question; where did she find the strength to endure those 90 days of torment? Her latest book, Our Lady of Kibeho is Immaculee’s answer to that question, as well as a personal account of the only Church- approved Marian apparition in Africa.

8th Grade Graduation
Last night the graduating 8th graders received their diplomas following Mass.
After the group picture was taken and they got dressed and the parents were sent into the church, the first thing the group did was turn to the crucifix and pray. Then they voted to donate some money they had raised to the Stephen Center, where many of them had served. Then Mrs. Watson asked that they always let the light of Christ shine to the world and represent the school in that way.

Last Day of 8th Grade
Today is the last day of school for the 8th grade students. Tomorrow there will be graduation pictures and graduation Mass.
Last Friday was the 8th grade dinner. The theme was "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka. The 7th grade parents did a fantastic job hosting this dinner for the 8th graders and their parents. There was a dinner, colorful desserts, speeches from 2 of our 8th graders and a video of their years together.
Following the dinner, the 8th graders stayed for a dance chaperoned by the 7th grade parents. It was a wonderful evening of fellowship and memories.

A Reminder for the Holy Day on Thursday
On Thursday we celebrate Christ's ascension into heaven. Just before he ascended, he spoke the words which are the basis for our parish's mission statement: "Go and Make Disciples."
Because this is a Holy Day of Obligation in our diocese, we will offer the following Masses:

No Hitter
Parishioner and Gross Catholic High School Senior Ryan Crnkovich pitched a no-hitter today to lead Gross past Omaha Roncalli 2-0 in the Class B state baseball tournament.
In the Omaha World Herald picture above, parishioner Joseph Waller (no. 21) congratulates Crnkovich. He didn't have any strikeouts, but Roncalli was unable to get any runners past second base.
Tonight he graduates and, as valedictorian, he gives a commencement speech.
His parents, Steve & Julie, are KPTM’s Fans of the Day for Fox 42 -- they should be on the 9 PM newscast tonight along with Ryan
Congratulations!

Underground Church
We tend to take our religious freedom for granted.
To get a flavor of what it's like in many parts of the world, T.E.E.N. Faith held an Underground Church activity. About 40 youth gathered in the gym. After some instructions, they were given instructions on how to get to an Underground Worship service.
But they had to be careful ...

Catechism with Fr. Corapi
Some parishioners are meeting Sunday afternoons at 3:00 in the Social Level of the church to study the Catechism. They watch part of a DVD presentation by Fr. John Corapi and then they discuss it together. Anyone who would like to join them is welcome.
This group began because a parishioner felt called to start this. In a parish our size, it is a sign of our health when people come forward with ministry ideas. Some work, others don't, but we need to always be open to the Holy Spirit working amongst us.

Mother's Day
The Blessing said for Mothers at the end of Mass today is:
Loving God,
as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children.
so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women,
that they may be strengthened as Christian mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honor them always
with a spirit of profound respect.
as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children.
so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women,
that they may be strengthened as Christian mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honor them always
with a spirit of profound respect.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Happy Mother's Day
